Request an example, an artefact and a boundary for every important answer. This is the desk’s proposed interview method:
- Example: Describe one relevant decision or incident without exposing confidential customer information.
- Artefact: Supply a redacted clause, schema, test record, correction history or incident timeline.
- Boundary: State what the evidence does not establish and when it stops being applicable.
What should be requested before the call?
- The buyer’s intended domains, audience, essential titles and delivery method.
- The proposed permission schedule and relevant commercial terms.
- A dated catalogue export and sample metadata records.
- Integration documentation, release notices and supported-environment statements.
- Any available privacy documentation and promotional-control description.
- Redacted incident evidence and the buyer’s own maintenance-cost assumptions.
Do not request secret keys or unredacted visitor data. Keep commercially sensitive material out of the public article unless publication is expressly authorised.
How should answers be labelled?
| Label | Publication treatment |
|---|---|
| Publicly documented | Cite the document and its applicable date; do not imply independent validation of all underlying claims |
| Expert interpretation | Attribute the opinion and explain its scope |
| Supplier assertion | Identify the speaker and the verification still required |
| Observed in testing | Provide method, environment, timestamp and sample limitations |
| Unknown | State the missing evidence and its effect on the buying decision |
No supplier launch performance, upstream mandate or buyer-specific legal suitability was independently tested or verified in this research pass. The next stage should collect the contract evidence, approved quotations and controlled test results needed to move from interview preparation to a purchase recommendation.
