Scope a shortlist

06Expert Q&A

Which recognised experts should the desk approach?

Build a panel around complementary expertise, then add the people who actually own the proposed contract and integration. Seniority should not substitute for access to evidence.

Prospective interviewee Verified basis for inclusion Best questions Qualification before booking
A. Jeff Ifrah, Ifrah Law The firm identifies him as its founding member and describes his US online-gaming and licensing practice. (ifrahlaw.com) Rights, distribution authority, US promotional context and termination Confirm relevant state coverage and conflicts involving shortlisted suppliers
Michelle W. Cohen, Ifrah Law Her 2026 Chambers profile covers gaming, advertising, privacy, free-to-play and social gaming; it also identifies her US privacy qualification. (chambers.com) Third-party data, children’s privacy and affiliate disclosures Request a publisher-specific scope rather than a general gambling-law discussion
Barry Pollard Co-author of Google’s iframe lazy-loading guidance; PodRocket’s November 2025 interview identifies his Chrome developer-relations work. (web.dev) Cross-origin measurement, mobile testing and performance interpretation Invite him on browser engineering, not gambling regulation or supplier endorsement
Chris Gallo, Gaming Laboratories International GLI’s leadership page lists him as SVP, Technical Compliance & QA. (gaminglabs.com) Demo fidelity, test scope and evidence behind certification claims Establish which questions concern technical assurance versus legal approval
Björn Sjöberg EveryMatrix announced his appointment as SlotMatrix CCO on 1 April 2025; January 2026 industry reporting also identifies him in that role. (everymatrix.com) Aggregation economics, eligible content and upstream dependencies Reconfirm current remit; establish whether independent demo publishers are served at all
Jan Kovac, Casino Guru Casino Guru’s profile identifies him as co-founder and former Head of Product, with software-development experience. (casino.guru) Publisher priorities, catalogue usefulness, maintenance and buying decisions Confirm relevant operational experience; do not imply Casino Guru is a customer of this desk

Also request two operational participants: the studio or distributor’s authorised rights representative and the engineer responsible for its launch service. Where possible, interview a publisher’s current catalogue owner alongside its budget holder.

Ask every participant to disclose relevant employment, investments, supplier payments and referral arrangements. Give suppliers a chance to correct factual descriptions, but not to approve the desk’s conclusions.
