Define the games and audiences you need, establish permission for the proposed use, validate the catalogue, and then build a small, measurable integration before expanding. Treat authorisation, technical availability and legal suitability as separate approvals—not interchangeable evidence.
For this guide, a demo means a playable game with no real-money stake, redeemable balance or prize. Deposits, purchasable credits, prize competitions and sweepstakes are outside the implementation brief. Do not add them as minor product features without reopening the legal assessment: Michigan’s regulator, for example, describes gambling by reference to consideration, prize and chance, but that state-specific explanation is not a nationwide clearance for a particular product. (michigan.gov)
Make written permission your procurement gate. The US Copyright Office identifies obtaining permission from the rights owner as a way to establish lawful use, while recognising that exceptions can apply. This guide does not claim every external link requires a licence; it recommends not building a commercial playable catalogue on an unexamined assumption about rights. (copyright.gov)
What has this research established—and what has it not?
This is a public-document research and implementation plan, not a completed supplier audit. No supplier was contacted, no private licence was inspected, and no game-launch or US territorial tests were performed.
Three findings should influence a project starting now:
- Free publisher access is a genuine sourcing route. First Look Games advertises its Demo Game Server at no cost to affiliate publishers, but participating studios are not obliged to supply demos. Its asset library therefore should not be treated as its playable catalogue. (firstlookgames.com)
- An integration change is approaching. Slots Launch’s documentation specifies 15 November 2026 for mandatory signed iframe and API requests, subject to account-specific legacy arrangements. That deadline is in the future as of this research date. (docs.slotslaunch.com)
- A marketed API is not necessarily available. First Look Games’ dedicated API page currently says the API is temporarily unavailable during upgrades. Confirm its operational status before making it a launch dependency. (firstlookgames.com)
Throughout this guide, supplier statements remain supplier statements. Proposed schedules, templates, thresholds and worked examples are desk-designed planning tools, not measured industry benchmarks.
